FCL have personalised lesson plans for maths and English as per your child's requirements. I see positive improvements in both of my children’s writing skills and maths. I used to worry a lot about their learning but that has been taken away. Please send your children there if you want them to be confident in school and in everyday life.

How we work

Our First Class Learning Centre Manager will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths, English and science. They will then complete a free assessment with your child and provide informative feedback on their strengths and areas to improve. They will also recommend a personalised learning programme to meet your child's needs. If you enrol, your child will attend the tuition centre once a week. At the centre, your child will be supported as they work through their personalised learning programme. Between their weekly centre visit, they will also receive a programme of daily bite-size homework tasks to further embed and consolidate the learning from the centre. We encourage all parents to mark the homework daily, so that corrections can be made as they go through the week and their progress will be seen in the results. (Don’t worry! Comprehensive handbooks with answers are provided.) Our programme is a partnership between First Class Learning, your child and you as parents, so communication between all is important.

FAQ

How does FCL differ to 1:1 tutoring?
FCL offers structure and daily practice, with a ‘little and often’ approach, enabling the child to retain what they have learnt and gain confidence with ease. It also develops good study habits and independent learning so that they don’t become dependent on others teaching them.
How will FCL help with my child’s school work?
By filling in any gaps they may have and developing their confidence we can change their attitude to a positive one and at the same time give them the skill sets needed to carry through to all school work.
Can I sit with my child while they do their work at the centre?
If your child is worried about coming into their first session, parents can come in to begin with but you won’t need to stay for long. Once they see the friendly faces and welcoming atmosphere, they are happy to stay on their own. We like to encourage independent and confident students.
If I join, am I tied into FCL for a set amount of time?
No, not at all. FCL is primarily a long term programme, not a 'quick fix'. However, there are many reasons why you may need to stop, so I just ask for a month's notice.
