Maths and English Tuition at Southampton Cobbett

Welcome to the Southampton Cobbett First Class Learning Centre. We support children from a range of abilities and age groups in developing key skills in Maths, English and Science. We offer quality teaching and support as each child undertakes their learning journey which is progressive and aligned to the National Curriculum. We believe every child can achieve success!

How we work

Get in touch with our First Class Learning Centre Manager to discuss how we can help your child develop key skills in Maths or English and enhance their knowledge in Science. We assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning as well enhance their confidence. They will then be able to start attending regular classes at the centre where they will receive quality teaching and support. In these classes they will receive prepared class work to complete whilst also tackling other concepts where consolidation or support is required. We consistently provide feedback to parents so that so they can see how their child is progressing. Your child will be provided with a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class.

The Southampton Cobbett First Class Learning Centre has been running successfully for over 5 years and has welcomed children of all ages and abilities. The Centre is run by Mrs Herjit Kaur BA (Hons) and dedicated support staff who are all fully trained and qualified to deliver First Class Learning study programmes in English and Maths to children from Early Years through to GCSE level. Herjit holds an enhanced DBS certificate, has extensive experience of working in local primary schools, providing one to one tuition to children in her local community and is extremely passionate about education. Herjit thrives on seeing children of any age and ability excel and achieve success at their own pace. We are proud to receive amazing feedback from parents as they see their children progress through their learning journey.

Maths

The First Class Learning Maths programme is designed to equip your child with the fundamental skills required for success in their school performance. Using a range of resources, it covers all the essential areas of the school curriculum. Our programme provides consolidation where needed and is progressive so that children of all abilities can engage in their learning.

English

Our English programme concentrates on reading, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, creative writing and handwriting. The programme gives children exposure to a wide range of materials, genres and texts. The initial diagnostic test assesses the child's needs so that we can provide an individualised programme.

Science

Our comprehensive science programme will develop your child's knowledge and the skills required as part of their school curriculum. The programme has a proven record for improving results and encourages enjoyment in learning.
