FCL have personalised lesson plans for maths and English as per your child's requirements. I see positive improvements in both of my children’s writing skills and maths. I used to worry a lot about their learning but that has been taken away. Please send your children there if you want them to be confident in school and in everyday life.

Maths and English Tuition at Nottingham Bobbers Mill

Welcome to the Nottingham Bobbers Mill First Class Learning Centre. We support children in the local community with maths, English and science tuition.

Through our structured programmes, we personalise each child’s learning path, which is targeted to fill any existing gaps in their understanding and promote development of existing knowledge. This helps with their schoolwork, builds confidence, and develops independent learning skills.

Our programmes are flexible and tailored to learners' individual needs and abilities, so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. Regular testing ensures that the best possible progress is made. The 'little and often' approach, with plenty of repetition and practice, really does make a huge difference.

How we work

The Centre Manager will complete a free maths and English assessment with your child which is carried out at the child’s home to make them feel comfortable and relaxed. Parents are then provided with thorough and informative feedback as well as an introduction to some of the rich resources we use to help children to flourish. We then design a programme unique to your child’s needs. Our maths and English programmes are designed to work with the national curriculum and build the skills incrementally. Weekly work is planned and scheduled so it is easy to follow. Our plan will include small bite-size tasks to complete at home as a follow-up from work completed at the centre to consolidate their learning. Parents can feel relaxed in knowing that when homework is prepared the child will always have clear direction. At our centres we provide a positive learning environment that encourages children to ask questions when in doubt, challenge them and help them to understand topics that they previously found difficult.

FAQ

How does FCL differ to 1:1 tutoring?
FCL offers structure and daily practice, with a ‘little and often’ approach, enabling the child to retain what they have learnt and gain confidence with ease. It also develops good study habits and independent learning so that they don’t become dependent on others teaching them.
How will FCL help with my child’s school work?
By filling in any gaps they may have and developing their confidence we can change their attitude to a positive one and at the same time give them the skill sets needed to carry through to all school work.
Is there an hourly, weekly, or monthly membership fee?
Our students pay a monthly membership fee to visit the centre one or more times a week. When your child enrols with us, there is a one-off enrolment fee (per child) at the start of their membership and a set monthly fee. We also offer discounts for siblings and number of subjects. Please call or email us to find out more about our fees.
If I join, am I tied into FCL for a set amount of time?
No, not at all. FCL is primarily a long term programme, not a 'quick fix'. However, there are many reasons why you may need to stop, so I just ask for a month's notice.
