At the Hackney First Class Learning Centre our aim is to help our students perform at their full potential. We do this with patience and diligence, by allowing each child to develop new skills at their own pace, by carefully reviewing their progress and ensuring they move forward with confidence at each stage of the learning process.
We believe that learning maths and English is like popcorn, some children ‘get it’ quickly, others may take a little longer, but, given enough time and attention, every child can ‘pop’, leaving no kernel behind. That belief is at the core of our ethos and why we have launched this service.
Students of all ages attend our tuition centre at Halley House School in E8. We cater for learners from Early Years and primary through to GCSE and adult students. Children preparing for 11-plus or KS2 exams are thoroughly prepared for their exams through the use of past papers and individually designed programmes of study.
Our maths and English tuition programmes are tailored to students’ individual needs so they move ahead only when they are confident with a topic. Like building the magnificent pyramids, we lay each foundation stone solidly and firmly before building on it. At First Class Learning Hackney we aim to create majestic pyramids, stone by stone.

At First Class Learning Hackney we follow a highly effective method yielding confident and high performing citizens of the future: 1. Our Centre Manager, Raxa Mehta will discuss with you how we can help your child with maths and/or English. 2. She will sit down with your child and complete a thorough assessment to determine where your child is at and which course is most suitable. 3. Once she has established your child's needs, she will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning. 4. If you are happy with our plan and believe that we are the best option for you and your child, they will then be able to start attending regular classes at our centre. In these classes your child will complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with Raxa, who will give them a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class. 5. Each programme involves 5-10 minutes of independent home study per day, and 30 minutes attending the centre per week. Our course work and additional exercises are fully aligned to the National Curriculum enabling your child to make full use of the skills and knowledge they gain through First Class Learning in obtaining excellent school results as well.
