Maths and English Tuition at Epsom Central

With over 20 years of experience and more than 300 centres nationwide, FCL specialises in delivering maths and English programmes tailored to support each individual school-aged child.

Our programmes, developed in the UK to align with the National Curriculum, are designed to strengthen core academic skills and boosts confidence.

Each student receives a unique, personalised learning plan based on their individual needs, thanks to our dynamic programme and customised lessons. We help students master concepts they may have struggled with in larger classrooms, enhancing their understanding of fundamental concepts, improving problem-solving abilities in maths, and building strong literacy and communication skills in English.

Through structured and flexible programmes, students gain the knowledge and tools essential for academic success, fostering a positive attitude toward learning and achieving better outcomes in the classroom.

How we work

Our centre manager, Anelle, is here to support you by first arranging an assessment for your child. This assessment, completed comfortably at your home, uses our engaging materials to help your child begin their FCL journey with a relaxed and positive mindset. The assessment will provide comprehensive feedback on your child’s strengths and highlight areas for improvement, benchmarked against the national curriculum. It also serves as the foundation for a personalised learning plan tailored to your child’s needs. Once enrolled, your child will attend the tuition centre once a week. At the centre, they will receive support with new concepts in their personalised learning plan and will be assigned daily, bite-sized homework to reinforce what they’ve learned in class. This structured approach promotes independent learning, maximizes proficiency, and builds confidence at each stage of your child’s journey. Our ‘little and often’ approach, with plenty of repetition and practice, truly makes a difference. We encourage students to mark their own homework daily, helping them develop self-assessment skills and to correct mistakes immediately. With regular in-centre testing, Anelle will monitor your child’s progress closely and provide regular feedback to keep you updated on their development.

FAQ

How does FCL differ to 1:1 tutoring?
FCL offers structure and daily practice, with a ‘little and often’ approach, enabling the child to retain what they have learnt and gain confidence with ease. It also develops good study habits and independent learning so that they don’t become dependent on others teaching them.
How will FCL help with my child’s school work?
By filling in any gaps they may have and developing their confidence we can change their attitude to a positive one and at the same time give them the skill sets needed to carry through to all school work.
Can I sit with my child while they do their work at the centre?
If your child is worried about coming into their first session, parents can come in to begin with but you won’t need to stay for long. Once they see the friendly faces and welcoming atmosphere, they are happy to stay on their own. We like to encourage independent and confident students.
If I join, am I tied into FCL for a set amount of time?
No, not at all. FCL is primarily a long term programme, not a 'quick fix'. However, there are many reasons why you may need to stop, so I just ask for a month's notice.
