How we work

Our First Class Learning Centre Manager will call you to discuss how we can help your child with maths, English, and Science. They will then assist your child to complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child's needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child's learning.

Baby Rashi

Centre Manager

First Class Learning Earlsdon is managed by Baby Rashi, who has worked as a qualified secondary maths teacher holding PGCE and QTS qualifications, along with extensive experience as a secondary school teacher. In July 2024 Baby Rashi received a maths teaching award from North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College in recognition of her outstanding dedication as a lecturer. She has also worked as a GCSE maths and 11-plus private tutor. With a commitment to excellence, Baby Rashi is fully trained to deliver the First Class Learning study programmes, holds an Enhanced DBS certificate and is trained in child safeguarding and first aid.

Maths

The First Class Learning maths programme is designed to equip your child with the fundamental skills required for success in school mathematics. Using a range of resources, it covers all the essential areas of the school curriculum.

English

Our English programme concentrates on reading, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, creative writing and handwriting. The initial diagnostic testing assesses the child's needs so that we can provide an individualised programme.

Science

Our comprehensive science programme will develop your child's knowledge and the skills required as part of their school curriculum. The programme has a proven record for improving results and encourages enjoyment in learning.

FAQ

How does FCL differ to 1:1 tutoring?

FCL offers structure and daily practice, with a ‘little and often’ approach, enabling the child to retain what they have learnt and gain confidence with ease. It also develops good study habits and independent learning so that they don’t become dependent on others teaching them.

How will FCL help with my child’s school work?

By filling in any gaps they may have and developing their confidence we can change their attitude to a positive one and at the same time give them the skill sets needed to carry through to all school work.

Can I sit with my child while they do their work at the centre?

If your child is worried about coming into their first session, parents can come in to begin with but you won’t need to stay for long. Once they see the friendly faces and welcoming atmosphere, they are happy to stay on their own. We like to encourage independent and confident students.

If I join, am I tied into FCL for a set amount of time?

No, not at all. FCL is primarily a long term programme, not a 'quick fix'. However, there are many reasons why you may need to stop, so I just ask for a month's notice.
