by Drewe and Emily Phillips, who are fully trained to deliver the First Class Learning study programmes. Every First Class Learning Centre Manager holds an enhanced DBS certificate.
Emily :- completed her degree in business management and leadership in 2012 and initially worked in sales. However, she had a strong desire to work more closely with people, which led her to transition into the field of recruitment, specifically in education. She focused on recruiting teachers and teaching assistants for Primary and Secondary schools. After gaining three years of experience in education recruitment, Emily made the decision to establish her own education agency, which has been operating successfully for five years.
With eight years of experience in the education sector, Emily has acquired various qualifications and training to ensure the safety and well-being of staff. She is Safer Recruitment trained and Child Protection trained, and she undergoes annual safeguarding refresher training. In addition to her work in education recruitment, Emily also engages in healthcare recruitment, specifically helping overseas candidates secure healthcare positions in the UK. She supports candidates from diverse backgrounds by providing interview preparation, guidance on English training, and assistance with the application process.
Emily's personal experience includes receiving tutoring, benefiting from services at the Primary, Secondary, and College levels. She strongly believes in the approach taken by First Class Learning, which encourages and engages students while promoting independence.
Passionate about well-being and mental health, Emily has completed various training programmes aimed at creating a healthy working environment. She takes responsibility for organising training sessions for teachers to support their personal development, emphasising the importance of ongoing learning and growth in the education field. Emily's dedication to education, recruitment, and supporting the well-being of students and teachers has made a positive impact on the individuals she works with.
Drewe:- has a 30-year career in Higher Education, holding various senior management roles in different universities. He has served as the Head of Department and Principal Lecturer during this time. One of his primary responsibilities has been designing and managing a variety of courses.
Drewe completed his Master's in Education from Cardiff University, with a focus on Child Development and Academic Leadership. He also holds a Certificate in Education from Cardiff University. In addition to his educational background, Drewe is a registered mental health nurse and teaches part-time at the University of Wales Trinity St. David.
Throughout his career, Drewe has been actively involved in numerous university projects aimed at making education accessible to all. He strongly believes that proficiency in Mathematics and English are essential foundations for children's ongoing development. He emphasises the importance of conducting initial skills assessments for children to establish baselines and designing individual programmes that foster confidence and engagement.
Drewe has extensive experience working overseas in various colleges and universities, which has exposed him to diverse learning approaches. He draws upon this diverse experience in his work at the Centre.
